About air waybills, rating and this tool.
It's the higher of the gross weight and the volume weight. Volume weight is length × width × height in cm ÷ 6000 (or ÷ 5000 for some couriers), times the number of pieces. The result is rounded up to the next half kilo.
Use it for house air waybills, drafts, pre-alerts and records. A master air waybill must carry a number from AWB stock the airline issued to you, and many airlines require their own e-AWB or stock forms.
PPD (prepaid) means the charges are paid by the shipper at origin. COLL (collect) means the consignee pays at destination. Weight/valuation charges and other charges can each be prepaid or collect, and the totals boxes follow your choice.
M is the minimum charge (a flat amount), N the normal rate under 45 kg, Q a quantity rate for heavier bands, and C a specific commodity rate. For class M the rate you enter is used as the total; for the others it's multiplied by the chargeable weight.
