Volume, volumetric weight and what you actually pay for.
Multiply length × width × height in centimetres, divide by 6000 and multiply by the number of pieces. In inches the divisor is 366. One cubic metre equals 166.67 kg of volumetric weight.
The higher of the actual gross weight and the volumetric weight. Airlines round it up to the next half kilogram (the next whole pound when you work in lb).
Express couriers usually divide by 5000, which gives a higher volumetric weight for the same box. IATA air freight uses 6000. Pick the factor your carrier quotes on in Settings.
For LCL sea freight, 1 CBM is treated as 1,000 kg, and you're billed on whichever is greater (weight or measure, "W/M").
